| The forms needed
for petitioning for new
chapters are available in .pdf format by
clicking here.
The
petitioning institution will complete the
application and mail it to
the Executive Director no later than June 30
of the year the institution desires to be
chartered. (A representative
of the National Council may be appointed to
assist institutions on
their campus in the petitioning process at the
petitioning
institution's request and expense.)
A
petitioning fee of $25 must accompany the
application. The fee covers
the cost of duplicating applications and
mailings. The
Executive Director will mail copies of the
applications to the
Executive Board and each chapter for review and
voting. The
applications will be reviewed according to
criteria set forth in the
National By-Laws.
Information
will be mailed to each institution explaining
how petitioning chapter
members should organize as a chapter; that is,
preliminary officers
should be elected or appointed. In this
fashion, the National Officers
and, in particular, the Executive Director,
can communicate directly
with the preliminary, designated Chapter
Advisor, President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer,
Historian, Editor, and
Parliamentarian. This organization will help
not only the local chapter
but the National Executive Board to conduct
the installation. A
representative of the National Council can be
appointed to assist
institutions on their campus with chapter
activities at the petitioning
institutions expense. Each
new chapter will be installed during a ceremony
conducted during the
annual meeting at ACTE by members of the
National Executive Board of
Omicron Tau Theta. A
charter, signed by the national officers, shall
be issued by the
Executive Director for presentation to the new
chapter upon its
installation. Individual members initiated at ACTE will pay their national dues at that time. Thereafter, national and local dues will be paid annually to the local chapter. |
